Genesis - Back In NYC
I see faces and traces of home back in New York City - So you think I'm a tough kid? Is that what you heard? Well I like to see some action and it gets into my blood. They call me the trail blazer - Rael - electric razor I'm the pitcher in the chain gang, we don't believe in pain 'cos we're only as strong, yes we're only as strong, as the weakest link in the chain. Only after a spell in Pontiac reformatory was he given any respect in the gang. Let me out of Pontiac when I was just seventeen, I had to get it out of me, if you know what I mean, what I mean. You say I must be crazy, 'cos I don't care who I hit, who I hit. But I know it's me that's hitting out and I'm, I'm not full of shit. I don't care who I hurt, I don't care who I do wrong. This is your mess I'm stuck in, I really don't belong. When I take out my bottle, filled up high with gasoline, You can tell by the night fires where Rael has been, has been. Now, walking back home after a raid, he was cuddling a sleeping porcupine. That night he pictured the removal of his hairy heart and to the accompaniment of very romantic music he watched it being shaved smooth by an anonymous stainless steel razor. As I cuddled the porcupine He said I had none to blame, but me. Held my heart, deep in hair, Time to shave, shave it off, it off. No time for romantic escape, When your fluffy heart is ready for rape. No! Off we go... Your sitting in your comfort you don't believe I'm real, You cannot buy protection from the way that I feel. Your progressive hypocrites hand out their trash, But it was mine in the first place, so I'll burn it to ash. And I've tasted all the strongest meats, And laid them down in coloured sheets (laid them down in coloured sheets). Who needs illusion of love and affection When you're out walking the streets with your mainline connection? connection. As I cuddled the porcupine He said I had none to blame, but me. Held my heart, deep in hair. Time to shave, shave it off, it off. No time for romantic escape, When your fluffy heart is ready for rape. No!

Prefab Sprout - Looking for Atlantis
If you're looking for Atlantis You should cast your eye on me Put your two and two together Don't you know who built Atlantis Then returned to the sea Don't you know who owns the weather ? Rain or shine Sure is good to seek a challenge Sure is fine to set your sights Sure is foolish to be blinded There are legions out there churching Searching for the holy grail Isn't one of them can find it All this time You should be loving someone And you know who it must be Cause you'll never find Atlantis Til you make that someone me You should be loving someone And you know who it must be Cause you'll never find Atlantis Til you make that someone me Say you do find your volcano and the darn thing is still hot Lesson one Child don't waste it Lesson two The world's your cherry But tomorrow ? Maybe not Lesson three Come on and taste it All this time You should be loving someone And you know who it must be Cause you'll never find Atlantis Til you make that someone me You should be loving someone And you know who it must be Cause you'll never find Atlantis Til you make that someone me

Manal - Avellaneda Blues

Yo La Tengo - Oklahoma, U.S.A.
All life we work but work is bore, If life's for livin' what's livin' for, She lives in a house that's near decay, Built for the industrial revolution, But in her dreams she is far away, In Oklahoma U.S.A. With Shirley Jones and Gordon McRea, As she buys her paper at the corner shop, She's walkin' on the surrey with the fringe on top, Cos in her dreams she is far away, In Oklahoma U.S.A., She walks to work but she's still in a daze, She's Rita Hayworth or Doris Day, And Errol Flynn's gonna take her away, To Oklahoma U.S.A., All life we work but work is a bore, If life's for livin' then what's livin' for.

The Shins - The Celibate Life
The dust from a four-day affair is now landing All over the floor and your brown legs The gold plated legs of my rival Whose eyes had no reason to fall. You led no celibate life no skirt while chemicals danced on your head. You stole the keys to this ride and your fables are falling tonight. Because of your struggle to make them. Their taste for your past time is fading Remember the girls in the middle are always the first to fall off. You'll learn to live like a mouse, Searching the cracks in the floor to remember All the dregs in the crowd you barely recall You led no celibate life no skirt while chemicals danced on your head. You stole the keys to this ride and your fables are falling tonight.
